Downriggers are one of the oldest most used and most productive tools used for salmon and trout. Their potential for putting fish in the cooler is undisputed. As with any tool, proper usage is the answer to success. A common question I receive from fellow fishermen is how long do you run your drop back leader? Hunters, Anglers Advised of Changes, IF&W Initiatives

AUGUSTA – Hunting and fall fishing seasons are underway in Maine, and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife wants hunters and anglers to be aware of rules and agency initiatives in order to have a safe season.

After a little internet searching, reading, and checking up on this stuff I found it’s a pretty well established product in Canada and hails from Quebec where they have this funny habit of speaking a lot of French. Thus the name, Jig-A-Loo, and the company’s claim it derives from a saying they have up north, “I’ve got it!”
