Carter Davidson Soon To Release Film “The One”

Gray Ghost ProductionsRaised in the western mountains of Maine on the banks of the Androscoggin River and the village of Bethel, Carter Davidson is an avid fly fisherman, a producer of outdoor adventure television programs, documentaries and most recently executive producer of Gray Ghost Productions fly fishing film titled “The One.” Beginning in 2000, Carter first got his start with Maine PBS, producing and editing a long list of Emmy nominated magazine series and documentaries. Later, he traveled across the globe to locations such as New Zealand, France, Argentina, Chile, and British Columbia to film all sorts of outdoor adventures from extreme skiing, whitewater rafting and kayaking, skydiving, mountain biking and of course fly fishing. In 2007 Carter founded the video production company Gray Ghost Productions and began his search to film and capture the essence of fly fishing.

“Follow the dream team of Gray Ghost Production’s first adventure as they travel through New England, Patagonia and British Colombia in search of The One. Come explore the untouched terrain of Argentina with Michael Jones. Or hop in the jet boat for a wild ride hunting for steelheads. New England’s most prominent trout guru and director of the Green Meanie’s takes us into the back country of Maine and trophy brook trout water. Take a look back in time to rediscover the Rangeley lakes region and the famous trout flies originated in this area. Tag along with Luke Gray and Charlie Davidson as they hear the scream of the reel on some of New England’s large and small tributaries. Join these fly fishing junkies and their quest for, The One.”

Executive Producers: Matt Stanton, Carter Davidson
    Producer: Charlie Davidson
    Director of Photography: Luke Gray
Narration: Joe Perham and Carter Davidson

    Movie trailer:

A movie premier will take place in Bethel in February. The release of the full length movie will be available to the public shortly after that.

“Open Air With Tom Remington” Radio Broadcast

Skinny Moose MediaYesterday’s broadcast on Skinny Moose Radio of “Open Air with Tom Remington”, went off pretty much without a hitch. With each successive broadcast, I get a little more comfortable and putting the show together becomes a bit more easy.

My guest yesterday was, once again, my son Steven, as we both work together to work the kinks out of the show but that doesn’t mean we didn’t have anything to talk about. We covered a little bit of baseball, in particular some Red Sox and Yankees coverage, football and the Patriots and Bill Belicheat, along with a host of other topics.

The focus of the show centered around the topic of wolves in the west and the title to a recent article about killing wolves, where the author of that article said that killing wolves violated the public trust. I spend ample time explaining why that is not true and that the fact is the when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, et. al. turned wolves loose in the Yellowstone area, that was a violation of the public trust. I share some history and information of how the U.S. was lied to about the reintroduction.

This topic will be expanded in future shows to show how much of what all hunters and outdoorsmen face today in battling the animal lovers, animal rights groups and anti-hunters is a direct relation to the reintroduction of wolves and continuing debate about their protection over the property rights of U.S. citizens.

I think you will enjoy the show. You can either click here and download or listen to the broadcast with your own media player, or click on the player below and listen now!. Thank you.

    Open Air With Tom Remington

Skinny Moose MediaHey! Don’t forget to tune in to the broadcast of “Open Air with Tom Remington” on Skinny Moose Radio starting at 3 p.m. today. Today my guest was again my son Steve and we talked about a variety of subjects but the main topic of conversation was about wolves in the west and my response to an article I read titled, “Killing Wolves Violates The Public Trust”. The basis of my rebuttal was clarification that the public trust was violated when we the citizens were lied to by our own government and others when wolves were forced upon the people from reintroduction.

I hope you’ll tune in. After the program has aired, we’ll list the show with a link for you to listen to at your leisure.

“Open Air” First Broadcast Today At 3 P.M.

Skinny Moose MediaToday at 3 p.m will be the first broadcast of “Open Air with Tom Remington”. This show is my son Steve and I discussing our future plans for Skinny Moose Radio. This will include talking about our programming plans, how you can start your own show, equipment you need to start a show and a myriad of related topics. I think it is information that listeners will really be interested in knowing.

I have been asked so often about what the show will be etc., that I put together a brief explanation that I have been giving to people. Here it is.

“What I envision for Open Air with Tom Remington is not just me but a lot of participation from other people, other sportsmen and activists who really love the outdoors and are worried that with the trends taking place all around us, there will be no more outdoors to enjoy. I want to talk with other people and talk about the things that really matter. We have to get outdoor sports people talking and becoming vocal. We have stayed quiet for so long that many feel like we don’t care about the issues. That has to change.

“I chose the title “Open Air” because I wanted to be able to let listeners know that the topics of my discussions will reach deeper and wider than mostly hunting issues, which is what the Black Bear Blog is all about. Open means the subject material is wide open and the air signifies the outdoors. When you combine the two together, it should provide for some fantastic topics for conversation.”

To give you a little bit of background on the show, we are in the process of having professionally done audio introductions and closings for the show but they’re not ready yet. I threw together a little introduction of my own so that we could get the show up and running. This will help in getting the bugs out.

The show will run in this time slot, at least for now. If you are unable to tune in at 3 p.m. for the broadcast, the Skinny Moose Radio website will have a listing of the show and a link where you can either download the show or stream it on your own computer’s media player.

I am very excited about “Open Air with Tom Remington” and I have some topics and guest interviews, etc. planned that I think will be great entertainment as well as informational and educational.

I hope you tune in today and every Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m.

    Skinny Moose Radio Launched

Podcasting ImageMost of you probably already know but the Black Bear Blog is part of Skinny Moose Media. Skinny Moose Media comprises a wide array of Internet enterprises. Included in SMM are:

U.S. Hunting Today – As of today, U.S. Hunting Today comprises 40 state hunting websites. Each website contains articles, tips, product reviews, news, resources, forums and more.

Skinny Moose blog network – I am not the only blogger for Skinny Moose. We are launching new blogs everyday. As of today we have 48 blogs. For those of you who don’t know, I blog on 5 different Skinny Moose Media blog sites – Black Bear Blog, Blogging the Maine Outdoors, Daily Bag Limit, Upper Andro and Black Fly Blog (outdoor humor).

Today, my son, Steven, and I are pleased to announce the launching of Skinny Moose Radio. Skinny Moose Radio will be an Internet broadcast. Each broadcast will be aired from the Skinny Moose Radio website and will be available for podcasts as well.

We are extremely excited about this new venture as we feel that audio and video is the future of the Internet and we want to be cutting edge in that department. We have been working on this for quite some time, studying and researching to find the right format and people to work with to make this top quality and professionally done.

We are developing new shows everyday. At present we are running a few shows and music while we assemble other programs. The response we have gotten from those we have talked with about this venture has been nothing but positive and the excitement level grows.

When you click on the link to the SMR homepage, at the top of the page you’ll find a link to the weekly schedule of shows. That’s where you’ll want to check to see what is playing. The schedule will be updated weekly. You will also find two other features of interest. To the right, you’ll see a link to “Skinny Moose Radio”, also showing a pulse meter. Click on that and you’ll directly to the broadcast. Your computer default media player should begin broadcasting right away. Also, near the top of the page you’ll see a Skinny Moose Media toolbar. In the top left of that toolbar you have an option to download and place that toolbar into your browser. When you do this, you will have a player function where you can quickly access Skinny Moose Radio and add your own material to listen to. There is also a button that to direct you to all the blogs of Skinny Moose Media. Just click on the drop down arrow on “blogs” and you’ll get all the latest posts for the blogs.

One show that will air every Wednesday at 4 p.m. is Maine Humorist and entertainer, Joe Perham. His cd “Guide to Hunting and Fishing in Maine” is now playing. We will add more of Joe’s programs as we progress.

I also am in the planning stages of producing a radio program that will be called, “Open Air with Tom Remington”. I thought about this for quite some time and wanted to be able to put together a show that listeners would like but wouldn’t be just a continuation of the Black Bear Blog, as big a success as that is. Open Air will be quite a variety of things dealing with subject matter, that you might have guessed, involving the wide open spaces of the outdoors.

I have plans to bring lots of interviews and talks with people from a wide array of interests, along with perhaps some music, humor and other assorted goodies.

If you have ideas for a show, let me know. I’m open to ideas. Also, if you ever thought about the prospects of becoming a radio personality, email us and tell us what you got in mind. We have 168 hours of programming time to fill each week.

I certainly hope that you will become a listener as well as a reader and help us out by offering your support to Skinny Moose Radio by listening in. You can read more about the launching of Skinny Moose Radio here.
