    Limited Fishing at Castalia Fish Hatchery

    This spring and summer, the Ohio DNR is making available some limited trout fishing on Cold Creek, which flows through the Castalia Fish Hatchery. There will be a split season for adults and a season for youth. Obtaining a permit is being done by lottery. The cost is $3.00 to apply and it is non-refundable. You do need to purchase an Ohio fishing license.

    To apply, applicants must submit a postcard listing their name, address, and phone number.  The applicant may bring one guest, but the guest’s name must be listed on the postcard at the time of submission.  Only one postcard per applicant and guest is allowed and no duplicates may be submitted.  Postcards should be sent to: ODNR Division of Wildlife District Two, 952 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840 Attention: Linda Keesecker.

    Fly Fishing Ohio

    I read this story this morning about two young fellas fly fishing for steelhead trout on the Vermilion River just outside Cleveland. It sure got my itch going to do some fishing. It’s a pretty good read and short.
