    Messing With Mother Nature

Chandler, Arizona is fighting back. They are mad as hell and they ain’t gonna take it anymore. They are fighting back against mosquitoes. How? Tiny fish – thousands of them. These fish are about the size of a guppy and can live in standing water for a long time and eat up to 500 mosquitoe larvae a day.

Is this really a good idea? Officials say the program is proven to be a success. What troubles me is they say these fish can produce 50-100 young at a time and live for two to three years. I sure hope these little fish have natural enemies because if not Chandler, Arizona may become overrun with tiny little mosquitoe larvae sucking fish and who knows what else will evolve from this.

The fear being instilled in people across our land about West Nile and other mosquitoe-born diseases is causing people to do something about it. Chandler opted for this alternative.

If you are one of those interested in fighting back, call the local authorities. They have the little fishies holed-up at the local fire station and they will come and assist you with stocking your birdbath, swimming pool, half empty can of beer, rain filled garbage can, the dent in the hood of the old junk car out back…..well, you get the picture.

Hey, this could become a Stephen King thriller! “The Revenge of the Chandler Guppy”.

    Oh, brother.
