Well, a couple of things. First, if Dick Cheney served up polar bear meat at a function, he would almost certainly be in violation of the United States-Russia Polar Bear Conservation and Management Implementation Act (S. 2013)
which implements the Polar Bear Treaty,

But I know that's not your main point. Your main point is that "those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."

Sadly, while hypocrisy is always something to be concerned about, in today's world of "gotcha" politics, manufacturing hypocrisy has become a full-time occupation for some, and a way to silence those who speak out on important issues. I'll repeat what I said before: Al Gore is human and has never claimed to be perfect. He goes to great lengths to be as green as he can be while still living a mainstream life and being an effective and active advocate for the environment, most specifically on the issue of global warming. To hold him to a standard of perfection is a silly, childish waste of time.

The fish was sustainably harvested, and while serving it to 75 people sure would be expensive, since the market price reflects the cost of raising it sustainably, for a wedding of people with wealth, it is not outside the realm of the reasonable.

Why not pay more attention and spend more time learning about global warming and what we all can do together to bring these environmental effects under control before it is too late, rather than trying to find fault with Mr. Gore?
